What is Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan?

Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan is a clear time frame for universal elementary education, a response to the demand for quality basic education all over the country. It is an attempt to provide human capabilities to all the children through provision of community owned quality education in a mission mode. It is also considered an effort at effectively involving the Panchayat Raj, Constitution, School Management committees, Village and Urban slum level education committees, parents Teachers Associations. Moreover Teachers Association and other grass root level structures in the management of elementary schools. It is a partnership between the Central, State and Local Government and an opportunity for States to develop their own vision of elementary education.

The school building itself acts as learning-aids as BALA stand for Building As Learning Aids

i) Well decorated class-rooms with Alphabets, Stories, Poems, Solar-System etc. painted on the walls.
ii) Iron grills of the fencing park have been converted into Alphabets numbers.

Stress is laid on activity based learning than on examination based learning which helps the students to have all round development. So, a sport is taken as the indispensable part of the learning in the classroom as it relaxes and removes the student’s minds and energies.
